Fauxsaics 

These beautiful typographic designs are inspired by typographic mosaics that graced stations, hotel entryways, and old storefronts, especially in Europe.

You could be forgiven for thinking they were real but these hyper-realistic illustrations have been painstaking created digitally by Nick Misani. The detailed designs are made up of between between 6,000 and 10,000 tiles, created in illustrator and finished in Photoshop. 

Most of the fauxsaics are created to announce an upcoming trip or places Nick has recently visited, taking some element or them from the location. The playful designs seem like an excellent vehicle for showcasing Nick’s specialist style. are there are some parallels with Jessica Hische’s Daily Dropcaps, also a passion project started while working at Louise Fili Ltd and carried through the transition to freelance designer.
